The 63-foot Sierra White Fir lighted at the U.S. Capitol Grounds on Dec. 6 as the official 2011 Capitol Christmas Tree includes a prominently displayed ornament paying homage to President Barack Obama, but includes no ornament readily visible to a person standing near the tree’s base that uses the word “Christmas,” or includes an image of the Nativity, or bears the name or image of Jesus Christ.

On the north side of the tree–at a height of about 4 feet and easily visible to people standing near it—there is an ornament that says: “I ♥ President Obama.”

When asked whether the tree included any ornaments that mention or depict Christmas or the birth of Jesus, the office of the Architect of the Capitol, which is responsible for the tree, told CNSNews.com that it “does not have a policy nor any restrictions concerning the themes for the ornaments” that go on the tree. The office could not say, however, whether or not this year’s Christmas tree does in fact include even a single ornament that directly references or depicts Christmas or Christ.

When 23-year-old Megan Geller was fired from her waitperson job at an Outback Steakhouse in Crystal Lake, Ill., in early October, she felt she was being discriminated against for her political leanings. Geller had been wearing a bright yellow bracelet with the words "Don't Tread On Me" inscribed on it "for months,".  

But after a couple that she was waiting on complained about the bad service they said they were receiving, Geller was let go from her job. And Geller says it was because the couple complained about the bracelet's tea party association.


The management at Outback rejected the notion that Geller was fired for any political affiliation.  "Miss Geller was not let go because of her 'tea party' bracelet" Outback's chief legal officer, Joseph Kadow, said. "On the night in question two separate tables complained about her lack of attention."


When Geller was approached about the complaints, she allegedly responded with an outburst, and Outback says that it was that behavior which prompted her dismissal. For its part, Outback reported to the Illinois Department of Employment that Geller was fired for misconduct. However, the chain is not contesting Geller's claim for unemployment benefits which would be considered normal when an employee is fired for misconduct.


 Wwhile the tea party movement has sought to embrace the image at rallies, often through attaching the emblem to the American flag, the Gadsen is in fact as inclusive an American image as they come. Having been used as a symbol of defiance throughout U.S. history, it was originated during the Revolutionary War. As the website Navy Jack, which is devoted to the flag, reports, the "Don't Tread On Me" rattlesnake was originally a symbol of resistance to British rule in America.


One wonders that if you have a DON'T TREAD ON ME flag on the back of your car, would a trouper arrest you if another motorist complained?

ANOTHER REASON OBAMA HAS TO GO!... AGAIN

Theoretically, smallpox has been eradicated, yet some evil scientist (such as in Iran or some other country bent on world domination) could release the germs. And is this another excuse for "Obamacare"?

Scientists are questioning a $433 million government contract for a smallpox drug they say the country doesn't need, amid concerns over the way the project was secured for a firm tied to a Democratic donor. 

The Los Angeles Times reported over the weekend that U.S. officials took unusual steps to award the contract to Siga Technologies. Democratic donor Ronald Perelman has the controlling share of the company. 

The article cited emails showing the Obama administration replaced the lead negotiator on the project following complaints from Siga -- Siga was apparently concerned about the government's objections to how much money Siga would make off the deal. 

Earlier, in December, the government also reportedly blocked other companies from bidding on the contract in a second round. 

Siga ultimately won the contract in May, but some questioned the price of the drug -- approximately $255 per dose -- and the practicality of the project. 

The government already has a smallpox vaccine on reserve. Siga's pill is meant to help people diagnosed too late for the vaccine to be effective, according to the Times. 

But the drug has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and there are limits on how it can be tested. 

One epidemiologist described the plan as a "waste of time and a waste of money." 

But Nicole Lurie, the Department of Health and Human Services official in charge of biodefense, told the Times the contract was granted on merit. And she cited a 2004 study showing a "material threat" that smallpox could be a biological weapon. 

A Perelman representative also told the newspaper that his political donations merely represent "his right" to support candidates.

PATERNO IS CULPABLE.

1992 on the Friday before Spring Break, McQuery was going to drop off the shoes and pick up tapes, he sees Sandusky sodomizing a 10 year old boy.  Both saw him see them.  McQuery walked out of the locker room.  He did tell his own father and the next morning the two McQuerys went to Joe Paterno and clearly told him what he saw but Paterno said that he didn't want to hear 'the dirty details' but that he wanted to talk to the athletic dept. chair and then he said that Sandusky only 'fondled' the boy.  Yet, McQuery states that he was clear what he saw and what he told Paterno.  My question is why didn't the then 28 year old McQuery try to smack down Sandusky physically and stop him instead of abandoning the child alone with his molester in the shower?  What must that child have felt?  Did he internalize that even a higher person did not protect him, then what hope did that child have about the good in humanity?


IT WAS PATERNO WHO MINIMIZED IT AND DELAYED REPORTING WHICH IS A CLEAR VIOLATION OF LAW.  How many MORE kids were abused since that date because Paterno, Curley and the president of Penn State did NOT do their legal duties to report and follow it up?


Tim Curley, the head of athletics is being charged with lying to a grand jury.


Pen State allowed Sandusky to keep an office on campus for his 'charities' which included access to the very showers where he had anal sex with children.


As late as yesterday, the Penn State bookstore carried Sandusky's autobiography "TOUCHED".  Weird?  When he retired Sandusky took a lump payment of $140,000 and he also gets about $60,000 a year.  The president who covered this up will get $27,000 a month of the taxpayers' money.


Three years ago, Sandusky was a volunteer coach in a Harrisburg high school.   mom became alerted when a kid wanted to know why her son asked her how to find a database for 'sexual wierdos'.  She then found out that Sandusky had been taking her son out of his classes without her permission.  When the principal called the student into his office and queried him, the whole sordid thing came out.  And right before this, Sandusky had asked the mother for permission to 'punish' him.  Ever had a person ask for permission to punish your child?


The victims who are now adults will look at the Penn State, county and state officials who DID NOTHING to protect them.  Now they are getting the scope and names of the ones who allowed the abuse to continue.  How many more will now find the courage to speak out?


Will Penn State survive?  Who will want to go there?  Will students transfer out?  It's not an inexpensive school to attend.  Will they be able to afford to pay high salaries to attract good faculty?  Will good faculty 'retire' early?


The student demonstrations that took place when Paterno was fired was another example of the poor quality of education since we've had a federal department of so-called education.  What they have taught is 'feelings' not facts and how to use facts to arrive at a truth in a logical way of thinking.  They only want people to 'react' which is a way to manipulate people to support illogical agendas.

As horrible as these charges are, the story gets worse as it continues to unfold into a larger picture of apparent cover-ups, abuse of power and neglect of basic human responsibility.

This scandal has permeated the various halls and offices of that Pennsylvania institution, and now the reputations and integrity of many of those in power during these alleged molestations are being called into question.

President Obama’s spiritual adviser is Rev. Jim Wallis, who also heads Sojourners, a leftist religious group that calls for wealth redistribution. Obama received so much flack with his first spiritual adviser, the outspoken Marxist Rev. Jeremiah Wright that he felt compelled to find another Marxist that wasn’t so vocal about his radical views.

When I first looked into the Sojourners a few years back, it was clear to even the most rudimentary reader that this was something of which to be wary.  While the surface objectives, peace and justice, seem non-threatening, their progressive methods are clearly socialist.  Remember that some European political parties are 'Christian Socialists', which have proven to be absolute lies.  Remember to look at what people DO, not what they say.

They are even against providing Christmas gifts to poor children on the basis that many of the gifts given are substandard and made by unfair conditions.  They prefer to hold the exchange or giving of gifts hostage to their own agenda, sublimating the basic goodness instincts of humans.


So do the poor kids in Appalachia or the ghettos care or would they prefer to have SOMETHING under the tree?

A terrorism expert and Islam watchdog says a Nashville hotel has caved to Islamic supremacism.

The Tennessee Freedom Coalition describes itself as a group dedicated to keeping sharia law from being established in the United States. It had booked space for November 11 at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville to host a 300-person event called "The Constitution or Sharia: Preserving Freedom Conference" -- and event touted as the first national conference on sharia and the "Islamization of America."

But Fox News has reported that when hotel officials learned that sharia critics Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were scheduled to speak, they promptly canceled the event and returned the deposit, citing security concerns.

Spencer says there is no excuse for the hotel's decision.

"The hotel manager in Nashville is actually contradicting himself because he is invoking smear reports on us by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League -- and then claiming that he doesn't have any problem with what we say, [that] it's just about the threats," he describes.

"But in any case, even if it is just about the threats, instead of standing up and not letting terrorism succeed, they are encouraging more of it by giving in," Spencer concludes.

As a result of the Hutton Hotel's action, organizers have moved the event to Cornerstone Church in Nashville.

"We are not going to allow ourselves to become marginalized," Spencer tells OneNewsNow. "We represent the point of view of the majority of Americans regarding Islam and jihad. We are going to not allow the Islamic supremacists to run us out of the public square."

Other schedules speakers include Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, David French of the American Center for Law & Justice, and Andrea Lafferty of Traditional Values Coalition.

1percenter Michael More makes 'more'...

Michael Moore, made a reputation and career of producing very one-sided documentaries designed to promote his own perverse and warped views, is supportive of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

He actively talks about the 99 percenters and their justifiable complaints aimed at the 1 percenters in the nation. Moore has said that the wealthiest one percent are largely responsible for many of the nation’s current economic and jobs problems and they need to be held accountable. He constantly lashes out at capitalism and America’s way of allowing people like him to make millions of dollars while at the same taking advantage of the very system he attacks.

Michael Moore appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight show recently and was questioned about his own income placing him in the top one percent. Moore denied that he’s in the top one percent and admit to his taking advantage of the system

And if anyone is interested, according to IRS reports, those people in the US considered to be in the top one percent of wage earnings make a minimum of $343,927 in annual adjusted gross income. Moore’s exact income has not been listed, but it’s easy to figure out that he does make significantly more than that a year from his projects.  He doesn’t do the his films, books and appearances for free, does he?

Moore admits to making a lot more but claims to use it for making his movies and helping  those who have lower incomes…. How much lower is never resolved.  If you make $100 less, in his eyes that would qualify as lower income.  I don’t think he means those of us who hover around $1000 or less a month. Other than produce lies and intellectual nonsense for the screen, how does Moore help those less fortunate than he? Does he give money away? Does he spend time with charitable organizations? Does he help small businesses  Has he been seen working on a Habitat house? What DOES he DO to help the ‘less fortunate’?  (He still charges them to see his lies and distorted mockumentaries.)

Michael Moore is even MUCH more guilty than many of the Wall Street elite he and the OWS are protesting. He not only is part of the one percent, but he takes FULL advantage of that position while at the same time publicly railing against the system that is making him wealthier day by day. 

Michael Moore is nothing more than a fraud, liar and charlatan and should be exposed for such.

A few days ago President Obama stated that he "could not guarantee that Social Security checks would be mailed on August 3 if the debt ceiling was not raised". I wonder if I am the only person interested in what he did not say.  Oh do NOT forget that Social Security recipients have NOT had an increase since he took office... just a $250 payment, that if you owed any taxes, they kept.

What he did not say:

I will not be able to get my monthly check for $33,333.33, 

Vice-President Biden will not get his check for $19,225.00, 

and oh by the way, Michelle will be happy to give up a vacation until we get this mess straightened out.

Congress will not be able to get their checks which average $14,500.00 per member. 

My Czars will not be able to receive their checks, some of which receive $14,350.00 per month and others receive $13,208.33 a month.

My cabinet members will not receive their $15,941.66 monthly check. 

Their Deputy Secretaries will not be able to receive their $14,350.00 monthly check. 

Their Under Secretaries will not be able to receive their $13,208.33 monthly check. 

Their Assistant Secretaries, general counsels, and heads of minor departments will not be able to receive their $12,416.66 monthly check. My various administrators, board members, commissioners, and others will not be able to get their $11,633.33 monthly check.

The Supreme Court will not be able to receive their $17,341.66 monthly check. 

The U.S. Appeals Court and Appeals Judges for the Armed Forces will not be able to receive their $14,591.66 monthly check. 

The U.S. District Court, Claims Court , International Trade Court , and U.S. Tax Court Judges will not be able to receive their $13,766.66 monthly check. 

And the Bankruptcy and Magistrate Judges will not be able to get their $12,665.33 monthly check.

The gaggle of Washington TSA bureaucrats will not receive their $8,750.00 monthly checks. 

The tens of thousands of other various paper shufflers who are pigeon holed in various offices in Washington will not receive their checks which average more than $8,333.33 a month.

What I heard coming from the lips of the President was that the only folks that should be concerned was people receiving Social Security checks. Isn't it ironic that the only people he feels that he cannot assure with any degree of certainty that they will get their checks are the ones who need the money the most? The national average for all Social Security beneficiaries is $1,079.00 monthly, which totals a whopping $12,948.00 yearly; the money coming from a fund that most have paid into their entire working lives. Or put another way, the average Social Security recipient gets a check each month that equals about 3% of what the President receives each month; and in theory, they are getting back their own money.
Never mind that the United States Constitution requires the President to pay Principal and Interest on the National Debt and then Federal Pensions before any other funds can be obligated. It is a foregone conclusion that Mr. Obama missed his constitutional law classes at Harvard.

The mere fact that the President, any President, would threaten in any "thinly veiled" manner that the elderly would not get their pension checks is about as contemptible and fear mongering effort as any elected official could use for expediency. This is outrageous even for this chronic avoider of the truth!

AND. the fact that Social Security is a SAVINGS ACCOUNT that the seniors have CONTRIBUTED TO for their entire working lives, and NOT a Government ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM!

All seniors should reward this Prince of Politics in November 2012 in like manner for his obvious lack of respect for our welfare, physical and mental, and his attempt to manipulate the debt ceiling discussion using senior citizens as pawns

Regarding “Chaz”

All the flap about “Chaz” being on the ‘reality’ contest show, “Dancing With The Stars”, should just be ignored.  By getting all exercised about it, you are feeding into the hype the producers want you to do.  Frankly, they are getting to the bottom of the talent barrel talent wise and they just have to go for the piss of the mainstream audience and generate viewers.  They have gone a long way from the days of true elegant ballroom competitive dancing and John O’Hurley’s win down to this season’s lineup of ‘contestants’.  If you doubt the downward quality spiral this show has taken, go to YouTube and watch John’s performances and compare with the current bunch.

Chaz is the transgenedered child of Sonny and Cher who was born a girl but decided to change to being a boy.  Essentially he has not demonstrated any talent nor a propensity to make any contribution to the welfare of society. One wonders where the money has come from to pay for all this surgery, psychology and medications to ‘correct nature’s mistake’.   One thing you can congratulate him on:  he waited until after his father died to do it.  Sonny, in his life after Cher, became a conservative politician and I think this move by his former daughter, Chastity would have been difficult for him to accept.

Not that Chaz even looks like a dancer, but he’s game to try.  I would suspect that he will be voted off quickly and when that happens, I would predict that the big brouhaha will begin.  Those with the agenda to rub the nose of anyone who does not condone this sort of behaviour in the flagrant presentations of this behaviour will loudly complain that it is only due to his sexuality.  Chaz has even stated  that  "DANCING WITH THE STARS IS A GREAT WAY TO FURTHER MY MESSAGE”.... which is????    They will overlook that there is NO evidence of any talent.  However, since he is overweight, maybe the hard work and physical demands might help his health and weight reduction.   That is IF you want to watch.

The solution:  DON’T WATCH “Dancing With The Stars:  Why is that so hard to do?  If you choose that course of action, let the sponsors know it and that you will not use their products.  If you really feel that strongly about it, take a stand.  Don’t just sit back and do nothing but complain and snivel.  

If you feel you absolutelyk MUST watch this show, use all of your votes for J.R. MARTINEZ, THE IRAQ WAR HERO.... now that would demonstrate REAL courage.

 Top headline this morning was that my former first choice talk show host was guilty of HOA fraud.  He was a rare and outspoken political strategist and got our last most excellent governor, Kenny Guinn elected.  Steve Wark is the one who SHOULD have been running the McCain/Palin ticket.  I am more saddened by his complicity in a convoluted scheme to control an HOA, than I am by the media flaying of John Ensign, former senator from Nevada. 

Senator Ensign had an affair while he was SEPARATED from his wife.  After Senator Ensign and his wife reconciled with the full knowledge of the affair, his parents made an ‘I’m sorry’ gift of a high 5 digit monetary gift… and a job. 

Then John Ensign had a guilty conscience and went public with the situation, which ultimately forced his resignation thus ending a good voting record that benefited the people of the nation as well as the people of Nevada.  He also had a record of 98% approval from the SPCA, which was how I’d heard of him even before moving to Nevada.  He’s a case of someone being hyper-vigilant and having that interfere in the larger scheme of things.  He also did quiet things like providing free screenings of AMAZING GRACE: The Movie because he felt that community leaders should see it and promote it and it was not even made by a Nevada corporation but of such quality and historical importance that it should be encouraged to see it.

And then sometimes good people make statements that the media will take SENTENCE FRAGMENTS and try to make a whole cloth argument against that statement and candidate… and then people who are not able to decipher the dissemblance believe that the lie is the truth. This brings me back to Steve Wark.  He was good at crafting good statements and combating the idiocy of the Left.  And then he goes and messes up all that good.

As a real civil rights activist/protester back in the late 50s/early 60s... long before it was fashionable... and having a father who helped establish the NAACP in Indianapolis, where I was born... this DEMOCRAT 'representative' says that (I am SO glad my father is not alive to see this!) those who want FREEDOM, better use of tax funds... and when this resonates with a large population who want to take their country back from the 'plantation mentality' of the Democrats an Liberals... then they scream the race card.  HOW DARE HE!!!  What a sniveling JERK.  I used to have a sign in my classroom 'BEING A JERK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY JOB"

Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.”

Carson also said the tea party is stopping change in Congress, likening it to “the effort that we’re seeing of Jim Crow.”

The explosive comments, caught on tape, were uploaded on the Internet Tuesday, and Carson’s office stood by the remarks. Jason Tomcsi, Carson’s spokesman, said the comment was “in response to frustration voiced by many in Miami and in his home district in Indianapolis regarding Congress’s inability to bolster the economy.” Tomcsi, in an email, wrote that “the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing.

In correspondence with a friend who is a therapist and someone I really respect and she put one of the aspects not often considered into perspective in the aftermath of disasters such as Hurricane Irene.  Having been on the counseling teams for disaster planning in several educational institutions I was aware of emotional aftermaths but did not put it in such accurate words.... and from someone who cares for the real well-being for those affected by disasters.  I grew up in Santa Monica/Malibu, California and had several friends who lost everything to fires and mud slides and their loss of memorabilia always made an impression on me...

Even this morning I saw footage of numerous houses floating downstream!  Tons of them!!  What are these people going to do in the meantime while seeing what is to be done?!  A woman was interviewed by phone from a shelter and told the reported that although glad to be alive and at a shelter, she and the others were still in shock; in one second they lost their homes, memories, jobs, belongings, neighbors, and are currently trapped in this shelter that is now an island between flood waters.  They'd been there for 3 days and are going crazy.  Can't even go outside because it's too dangerous.  I live in Ohio and, even though I've enjoyed gorgeous weather during this whole thing, I've been dripping tears for the past week, oversleeping, can't really enjoy anything.  I'm wondering if the media is downplaying a lot of this now so the rest of the country doesn't get depressed like this?  If so, it may only serve to be turning Americans into seemingly cold-hearted, misinformed, arrogant jerks who judge what they don't even know about.  It really creates a nasty split within our own society.  The same thing happened when I returned from my military service.  I finally quit discussing the ills of the Army and my overseas experiences after so many friends and relatives responded that they'd never heard of the incidents I spoke of on the news, the military would NEVER do some things I mentioned to its own people, etc..  Now we see on an even larger scale how this happens in our society.  This would never occur in Japan.  I'm still much happier to be in the U.S. but "I'm just sayin'."


so please remember those who are still in shock, trying to figure out how to survive when it's all gone..... and to those who say it's no big deal.... consider those who lost it all in seconds.... there is nothing saying that it can't happen to you... fires, tornadoes, floods, mud slides can happen.

What is really scary is the weapons of mass destruction that exist there.  They SAID they stopped producing them in 2003.  UN scientists did take out a few pounds of military grade.

900 Metric tons "Yellow Cake" uranium stored that could be sold to... Iran?  Al Quida?

11,000 metric tons of mustard gas.

30,000 anti-aircraft rockets

We don't KNOW where these are stored.

What if they fall into radical Islamist hands?

What if Khadaffi has a button and can set them off into the world?

What about that guy Libya got out of Scotland, now Scotland would like him but they are refusing?  It would have been nice if the rebels would return him to Scotland as a sign of cooperation.  Hmmm maybe a covert operative could take him out.... after all he is responsible for 900 deaths over Lockerbie Scotland.

THE SPY IN YOUR HOME

Don't go looking for 'bugs' being installed.  They ARE coming.
at first glance and from utility company propaganda, it seems like an idea for people to help control their utility bills.  Or a way to 'protect the environment' ... and anyone who knows me, knows that I am a rational environmentalist.

HOWEVER, it is now turning out that they can, by remote control, cut off use of appliances 'they' don't think you should use.  When do you want your refrigerator/freezer turned off?  When on a hot day do you want your A/C cut off?  When you can watch that new flat screen TV or use your computer?

Could this be used punitively if you voice an opinion contrary to the government?  And if they force you into electric cars, will the utility company/government decide you drive too much?  The utilities have the ability to get and store a lot of information about you and your habits.  What about seniors who are home all day?  What about children after school? (drive them into community centers where they can be controlled easier?)  Burglars can hack into the information and find out when you are regularly away and break into your home with less fear of discovery.

Better start thinking about unintended consequences NOW or it will be too late?

What surprised me is that my 'liberal' former home area is now fighting against this invasion.  PG&E is arrogantly insisting that they CAN do this.  They even hide installers in the bushes waiting for people to leave the home so they can install them without the homeowner there to fight it.  Despite the right you have to refuse the meter, the utilities, companies like PG&E and NV Energy.

There IS a health danger associated with these meters.... and the empirical science supports this.  The utilities are installing antennas without city's permission.  The costs of running the transmitting your information will also be charged to you as well as mix-up in information so that you can get stuck with paying your neighbors' bills.

Proposed Congressional Reform Act of 2011

I didn't write this, but I've been thinking exactly the same thing:

1.   No Tenure / No Pension.  
   A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.   
   
2.   Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.  
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.  It may not be used for any other purpose. 
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.  
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.  
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.  
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.  
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.  

   The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.  Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.   Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The  Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
