Neither has his lack of concern for the cost to consumers.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">President Obama hates coal because he has deemed it too “dirty.” It’s also the largest generator of electricity in this country. Were there a cheaper, easier (and even cleaner) source of electricity generation the market would have embraced it because that’s how markets work. But there isn’t, at least not yet.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">But rather than allow the market to work, something new to be developed, the President seeks to force it, to steer it where he wants it to go. It’s something politicians have tried to do since there was a market to steer, and something they’ve failed to do successfully since their first try (Great Leap Forward anyone?).</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">President Obama wants to steer electricity generation away from coal to natural gas. The only problem with that is our system is set up for coal, coal is abundant and coal is easier to get. While the market may naturally gravitate to natural gas as it becomes easier to get through fracking, something the Left has demonized and is fighting, we’re not there yet.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Just like the public and humiliating failures of subsidized solar companies like Solyndra and so many others, the technology may be there but simply existing doesn’t make it practical. Neither does willing it to be.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">The automobile existed for years before it took over from trains and streetcars as the dominant mode of transportation, not because it didn’t work, but because it took until Henry Ford found a way to make them affordable. The government didn’t force it, the market did.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">President Obama, through the power of regulation, is seeking to force the electricity generation market in a direction it simply isn’t ready to go. And consumers will be the ones who suffer.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Coal fueled electricity generating plants can’t just flip a switch and use natural gas, changing them over is time consuming and, most importantly to consumers, very expensive. The cost of doing so will not be eaten by these electric companies, it will be passed on to consumers. And, as President Obama said, the electric bills of those consumers will “necessarily skyrocket.”</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">This isn’t just hyperbole. A survey of electricity executive indicates 90 percent of them expect the costs of moving away from coal power plants to lead to higher electricity bills for consumers. More than half of the survey respondents <a href="http://finance.yahoo.com/news/utility-execs-see-electric-bills-090800012.html" style="color: #0088bb; text-decoration: none;">predict at least a 10 percent increase</a>.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">More than a survey, as Phil Kerpen, President of American Commitment, <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/05/22/obamas-war-on-coal-hits-your-electric-bill/" style="color: #0088bb; text-decoration: none;">reports</a>:</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0.5in; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">…PJM Interconnection, the company that operates the electric grid for 13 states held its 2015 capacity auction…The market-clearing price for new 2015 capacity – almost all natural gas – was $136 per megawatt. That’s eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16 per megawatt.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">But don’t expect this White House to care. They have no reason to. These price spikes are a few years away and will come long after President Obama will face voters for the last time. He’ll either be a President in his last term or a former President, neither of which carry accountability.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">The accountability must come now, before it’s too late.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Congress can move against the President’s plans to regulate existing and new power coal power plants, but that is unlikely with the Senate being controlled by Democrats. It would also require him not to veto any action Congress takes, which won’t happen either. So right now, this is the future we’re facing.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Since legislative action or a regulatory change of course are unlikely, voter education is the only hope. The promise of “green energy” sounds great, but it’s just sounds at this point. We may get to the point where we can generate the electricity we need through sheer force of will or some other way the global warming true believers support, but that will have to come the way every important innovation in all areas of the economy have come – through the market finding a profitable way to meet consumer demand. But we aren’t there yet.</div><div style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #111111; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; font: inherit; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Until we get there, coal is still the best, most efficient and most affordable source of the electricity we need. All the regulations and wishes in the world won’t change that fact, only the market can.</div>Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1621008415882371764.post-12516194144822195152012-03-09T17:34:00.000-08:002012-03-09T17:34:08.842-08:00We’ll mock Jesus but not Mohammed, says BBC boss<i>Once upon a time..... <center><b><i><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: small;"><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: small;">It's Official: Barack Obama Has Declared Himself De-facto Dictator Of The United States Of America.</span></span></i></b></center><b><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><img align="left" border="0" height="200" hspace="10" src="http://www.c4strategies.com/ImpeachObama/obama5.jpg" vspace="4" width="158" /></span></b> While the tyrannical pronouncement went largely unreported by the Obama-media, Barack Obama declared himself de-facto dictator of the United States of America on Wednesday, possibly signaling the end of the United States as we know it.<br />
<br />
In what can only be described as a blatant, totalitarian and authoritarian abuse of power, Barack Obama, decreed that Richard Cordray would be the head of his so-called Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and he <i><span style="background-color: #ffffcc;">made his declaration without the advice and consent of the Senate, and, by doing so, he clearly violated Article 2, Section 2 of the United States Constitution</span></i>.<br />
<br />
But do not be deceived, the Cordray decree is not just another run of the mill Obama abuse of power.<br />
<br />
Through this seemingly insignificant but illegal act of defiance, Barack Obama stopped sticking his toe in the water and <i><span style="background-color: #ffffcc;">finally took the plunge and declared Congress irrelevant</span></i>, and as long as Congress accepts its newly decreed irrelevance, nothing stands in Barack Obama's way. That's how tyrannies start!<br />
<br />
We can't allow that to happen. The <i><a href="http://westernjournalism.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b58f5402a9ab54bddf0c908c8&id=b458e58324&e=882e9792ab" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">disease that is the Obama administration must be stopped and IMPEACHMENT is the only cure</a></i>! </b>Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1621008415882371764.post-39513784460137380622012-01-13T08:57:00.000-08:002012-01-13T08:57:42.897-08:00<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14px;">RE: 'unhappiness' in British children. Do ya' think that just MAYBE living in a socialist country, one that is being taken over by Islamists at that MIGHT have any thing to do with it.? When needs are 'met' and there is no striving for them and hence no opportunity for success, a feeling of ennui becomes pervasive? And a reason why the Scandinavian countries have the highest rates of teen alcoholism. If the State becomes the family, this is what results as the Sate is a faceless, uncaring mechanical tit from which physical 'needs' are met but the psychological/spiritual needs wither and die.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14px;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14px;">We know the early psychological experiments of Harry Harlow which proved that monkeys chose the cuddly surrogate over the food one. And families are increasingly less willing to touch and hug and form real attachments. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14px;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14px;">So we wonder why the toddlers who have gone thru multiples of adult caregivers in their young formative lives lack social attachment and thus connectedness and responsibility to the social structure as a whole as they age. One would be hesitant to say the mature or grown up as these old children never develop healthy psyches that a society needs for positive development.</span>Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1621008415882371764.post-15031982787631731792012-01-06T22:39:00.000-08:002012-01-06T22:39:01.748-08:00BHO selling US out AGAIN<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Comic Sans MS', sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">This is short but painful... The first janitor now " suffers from dementia" (convenient?)</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">1992 on the Friday before Spring Break, McQuery was going to drop off the shoes and pick up tapes, he sees Sandusky sodomizing a 10 year old boy. Both saw him see them. McQuery walked out of the locker room. He did tell his own father and the next morning the two McQuerys went to Joe Paterno and clearly told him what he saw but Paterno said that he didn't want to hear 'the dirty details' but that he wanted to talk to the athletic dept. chair and then he said that Sandusky only 'fondled' the boy. Yet, McQuery states that he was clear what he saw and what he told Paterno. My question is why didn't the then 28 year old McQuery try to smack down Sandusky physically and stop him instead of abandoning the child alone with his molester in the shower? What must that child have felt? Did he internalize that even a higher person did not protect him, then what hope did that child have about the good in humanity?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">IT WAS PATERNO WHO MINIMIZED IT AND DELAYED REPORTING WHICH IS A CLEAR VIOLATION OF LAW. How many MORE kids were abused since that date because Paterno, Curley and the president of Penn State did NOT do their legal duties to report and follow it up?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Tim Curley, the head of athletics is being charged with lying to a grand jury.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Pen State allowed Sandusky to keep an office on campus for his 'charities' which included access to the very showers where he had anal sex with children.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">As late as yesterday, the Penn State bookstore carried Sandusky's autobiography "TOUCHED". Weird? When he retired Sandusky took a lump payment of $140,000 and he also gets about $60,000 a year. The president who covered this up will get $27,000 a month of the <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">taxpayers'</span></b> money.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Three years ago, Sandusky was a volunteer coach in a Harrisburg high school. mom became alerted when a kid wanted to know why her son asked her how to find a database for 'sexual wierdos'. She then found out that Sandusky had been taking her son out of his classes without her permission. When the principal called the student into his office and queried him, the whole sordid thing came out. And right before this, Sandusky had asked the mother for permission to 'punish' him. Ever had a person ask for permission to punish your child?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">The victims who are now adults will look at the Penn State, county and state officials who DID NOTHING to protect them. Now they are getting the scope and names of the ones who allowed the abuse to continue. How many more will now find the courage to speak out?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Will Penn State survive? Who will want to go there? Will students transfer out? It's not an inexpensive school to attend. Will they be able to afford to pay high salaries to attract good faculty? Will good faculty 'retire' early?</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">The student demonstrations that took place when Paterno was fired was another example of the poor quality of education since we've had a federal department of so-called education. What they have taught is 'feelings' not facts and how to use facts to arrive at a truth in a logical way of thinking. They only want people to 'react' which is a way to manipulate people to support illogical agendas.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<br />
<div style="line-height: 23px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">As horrible as these charges are, the story gets worse as it continues to unfold into a larger picture of apparent cover-ups, abuse of power and neglect of basic human responsibility.</span></div><div style="line-height: 23px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">This scandal has permeated the various halls and offices of that Pennsylvania institution, and now the reputations and integrity of many of those in power during these alleged molestations are being called into question.</span></div>Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1621008415882371764.post-54520436679983309782011-11-04T10:42:00.000-07:002011-11-04T10:42:27.584-07:00BHO's questionable moral compassFirst it was the racist Jerimiah Wright now ....<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px;">President Obama’s spiritual adviser is Rev. Jim Wallis, who also heads Sojourners, a leftist religious group that calls for wealth redistribution. Obama received so much flack with his first spiritual adviser, the outspoken Marxist Rev. Jeremiah Wright that he felt compelled to find another Marxist that wasn’t so vocal about his radical views.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px;"><span><br />
<br />
When I first looked into the Sojourners a few years back, it was clear to even the most rudimentary reader that this was something of which to be wary. While the surface objectives, peace and justice, seem non-threatening, their progressive methods are clearly socialist. Remember that some European political parties are 'Christian Socialists', which have proven to be absolute lies. Remember to look at what people DO, not what they say.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px;"><span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;">Perhaps this is why we absolutely need to avoid and established church.... to avoid this sort of thing.</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;">They are even against providing Christmas gifts to poor children on the basis that many of the gifts given are substandard and made by unfair conditions. An Anti-Sharia Law conference was cancelled by the hotel when the Southern Anti-Poverty Law Center started a smear campaign. Is this the America you want? or is this the new AMERIKA???<br />

the following is from FRONT PORCH POLITICS:<br />

It had booked space for November 11 at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville to host a 300-person event called "The Constitution or Sharia: Preserving Freedom Conference" -- and event touted as the first national conference on sharia and the "Islamization of America."<br />
<br />
But Fox News has reported that when hotel officials learned that sharia critics Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were scheduled to speak, they promptly canceled the event and returned the deposit, citing security concerns.<br />
<br />
Spencer says there is no excuse for the hotel's decision.<br />
<br />
<img align="right" alt="Robert Spencer" border="1" height="125" hspace="3" src="http://www.onenewsnow.com/uploadedImages/Media/Images/Mugs/Robert%20Spencer.jpg" style="margin-bottom: 3px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 9px; margin-top: 0px;" title="Robert Spencer" vspace="3" width="83" />"The hotel manager in Nashville is actually contradicting himself because he is invoking smear reports on us by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League -- and then claiming that he doesn't have any problem with what we say, [that] it's just about the threats," he describes.<br />
<br />
"But in any case, even if it is just about the threats, instead of standing up and not letting terrorism succeed, they are encouraging more of it by giving in," Spencer concludes.<br />
<br />
As a result of the Hutton Hotel's action, organizers have moved the event to Cornerstone Church in Nashville.<br />
<br />
"We are not going to allow ourselves to become marginalized," Spencer tells OneNewsNow. "We represent the point of view of the majority of Americans regarding Islam and jihad. We are going to not allow the Islamic supremacists to run us out of the public square."<br />
<br />
Other schedules speakers include Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy, David French of the American Center for Law & Justice, and Andrea Lafferty of Traditional Values Coalition.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">When your friends cannot explain why they voted Democrat, give them this list. They can then pick their reasons from this "TOP 12"...<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">1. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4%on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">2. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> 9. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 13.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">10. <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">What he did not say:</span></b><br />

<br />
What I heard coming from the lips of the President was that the only folks that should be concerned was people receiving Social Security checks. Isn't it ironic that the only people he feels that he cannot assure with any degree of certainty that they will get their checks are the ones who need the money the most? The national average for all Social Security beneficiaries is $1,079.00 monthly, which totals a whopping $12,948.00 yearly; the money coming from a fund that most have paid into their entire working lives. Or put another way, the average Social Security recipient gets a check each month that equals about 3% of what the President receives each month; and in theory, <i><span style="font-style: italic;">they are getting back their own money.<br />
</span></i>Never mind that the United States Constitution requires the President to pay Principal and Interest on the National Debt and then Federal Pensions before any other funds can be obligated. It is a foregone conclusion that Mr. Obama missed his constitutional law classes at Harvard.<br />
<br />
The mere fact that the President, any President, would threaten in any "thinly veiled" manner that the elderly would not get their pension checks is about as contemptible and fear mongering effort as any elected official could use for expediency. This is outrageous even for this chronic avoider of the truth!</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><strong>AND. the fact that Social Security is a SAVINGS ACCOUNT that the seniors have CONTRIBUTED TO for their entire working lives, and <u>NOT</u> a Government ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM!</strong></div><strong></strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><br />

<div class="MsoNormal">Regarding “Chaz”</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">All the flap about “Chaz” being on the ‘reality’ contest show, “Dancing With The Stars”, should just be ignored.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>By getting all exercised about it, you are feeding into the hype the producers want you to do.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Frankly, they are getting to the bottom of the talent barrel talent wise and they just have to go for the piss of the mainstream audience and generate viewers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They have gone a long way from the days of true elegant ballroom competitive dancing and John O’Hurley’s win down to this season’s lineup of ‘contestants’.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you doubt the downward quality spiral this show has taken, go to YouTube and watch John’s performances and compare with the current bunch.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Chaz is the transgenedered child of Sonny and Cher who was born a girl but decided to change to being a boy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Essentially he has not demonstrated any talent nor a propensity to make any contribution to the welfare of society. One wonders where the money has come from to pay for all this surgery, psychology and medications to ‘correct nature’s mistake’.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>One thing you can congratulate him on:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>he waited until after his father died to do it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Sonny, in his life after Cher, became a conservative politician and I think this move by his former daughter, Chastity would have been difficult for him to accept.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Not that Chaz even looks like a dancer, but he’s game to try.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would suspect that he will be voted off quickly and when that happens, I would predict that the big brouhaha will begin.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Those with the agenda to rub the nose of anyone who does not condone this sort of behaviour in the flagrant presentations of this behaviour will loudly complain that it is only due to his sexuality.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> Chaz has even stated that </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 20px;"><strong style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-size: 12px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><strong style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; font-size: 12px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><a href="http://www.okmagazine.com/2011/08/2011/08/chaz-bono-says-dancing-with-the-stars-is-a-great-way-to-further-my-message/" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top-width: 0px; color: #14b3b3; font-size: 12px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; outline-color: initial; outline-style: initial; outline-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_self"> </a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">"DANCING WITH THE STARS IS A GREAT WAY TO FURTHER MY MESSAGE”</span></span></span>.... which is???? </strong></strong></span>They will overlook that there is NO evidence of any talent.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>However, since he is overweight, maybe the hard work and physical demands might help his health and weight reduction.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>That is IF you want to watch.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The solution:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>DON’T WATCH “Dancing With The Stars:<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Why is that so hard to do?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you choose that course of action, let the sponsors know it and that you will not use their products.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you really feel that strongly about it, take a stand.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Don’t just sit back and do nothing but complain and snivel.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"><br />

<div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>WHY DO SMART PEOPLE DO STUPID THINGS? <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Top headline this morning was that my former first choice talk show host was guilty of HOA fraud.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He was a rare and outspoken political strategist and got our last most excellent governor, Kenny Guinn elected.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Steve Wark is the one who SHOULD have been running the McCain/Palin ticket.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I am more saddened by his complicity in a convoluted scheme to control an HOA, than I am by the media flaying of John Ensign, former senator from Nevada.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">Senator Ensign had an affair while he was SEPARATED from his wife.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After Senator Ensign and his wife reconciled with the full knowledge of the affair, his parents made an ‘I’m sorry’ gift of a high 5 digit monetary gift… and a job.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">Then John Ensign had a guilty conscience and went public with the situation, which ultimately forced his resignation thus ending a good voting record that benefited the people of the nation as well as the people of Nevada.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He also had a record of 98% approval from the SPCA, which was how I’d heard of him even before moving to Nevada.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He’s a case of someone being hyper-vigilant and having that interfere in the larger scheme of things.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He also did quiet things like providing free screenings of AMAZING GRACE: The Movie because he felt that community leaders should see it and promote it and it was not even made by a Nevada corporation but of such quality and historical importance that it should be encouraged to see it.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt;">And then sometimes good people make statements that the media will take SENTENCE FRAGMENTS and try to make a whole cloth argument against that statement and candidate… and then people who are not able to decipher the dissemblance believe that the lie is the truth. This brings me back to Steve Wark.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He was good at crafting good statements and combating the idiocy of the Left.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And then he goes and messes up all that good.<o:p></o:p></span></div><!--EndFragment--> Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1621008415882371764.post-76479291998947709592011-08-31T11:48:00.000-07:002011-08-31T11:48:06.931-07:00For THIS I put my body on the line???????As a real civil rights activist/protester back in the late 50s/early 60s... long before it was fashionable... and having a father who helped establish the NAACP in Indianapolis, where I was born... this DEMOCRAT 'representative' says that (I am SO glad my father is not alive to see this!) those who want FREEDOM, better use of tax funds... and when this resonates with a large population who want to take their country back from the 'plantation mentality' of the Democrats an Liberals... then they scream the race card. HOW DARE HE!!! What a sniveling JERK. I used to have a sign in my classroom 'BEING A JERK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY JOB"<br />

Having been on the counseling teams for disaster planning in several educational institutions I was aware of emotional aftermaths but did not put it in such accurate words.... and from someone who cares for the real well-being for those affected by disasters. I grew up in Santa Monica/Malibu, California and had several friends who lost everything to fires and mud slides and their loss of memorabilia always made an impression on me...<br />
<br />
Here's Laura's comments:<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><i>Even this morning I saw footage of numerous houses floating downstream! Tons of them!! What are these people going to do in the meantime while seeing what is to be done?! A woman was interviewed by phone from a shelter and told the reported that although glad to be alive and at a shelter, she and the others were still in shock; in one second they lost their homes, memories, jobs, belongings, neighbors, and are currently trapped in this shelter that is now an island between flood waters. They'd been there for 3 days and are going crazy. Can't even go outside because it's too dangerous. I live in Ohio and, even though I've enjoyed gorgeous weather during this whole thing, I've been dripping tears for the past week, oversleeping, can't really enjoy anything. I'm wondering if the media is downplaying a lot of this now so the rest of the country doesn't get depressed like this? If so, it may only serve to be turning Americans into seemingly cold-hearted, misinformed, arrogant jerks who judge what they don't even know about. It really creates a nasty split within our own society. The same thing happened when I returned from my military service. I finally quit discussing the ills of the Army and my overseas experiences after so many friends and relatives responded that they'd never heard of the incidents I spoke of on the news, the military would NEVER do some things I mentioned to its own people, etc.. Now we see on an even larger scale how this happens in our society. This would never occur in Japan. I'm still much happier to be in the U.S. but "I'm just sayin'."</i></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><i><br />
</i></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">so please remember those who are still in shock, trying to figure out how to survive when it's all gone..... and to those who say it's no big deal.... consider those who lost it all in seconds.... there is nothing saying that it can't happen to you... fires, tornadoes, floods, mud slides can happen.</span>Joanna in Las Vegashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13123142523867683396noreply@blogger.com1
