Rights Vs. Responsibility

Paul the Apostle wrote, "We were not idle when we were
with you, nor did we eat anyone's food without paying
for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day,
laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden
to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have
the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves
a model for you to follow. For even when we were with
you, we gave you this rule: 'If a man will not work,
he shall not eat.'"1

Recently, when watching an interview on TV, I found it
sickening to see the following reasoning: An individual
who was being interviewed--who happened to be an
illegal immigrant--was asked why she was here, and why
she didn't want to work. Her answer was that she had a
right to be here, and a right to be taken care of, her
"justification" being that because God had blessed the
U.S.A., it was the will of Jesus that she live here
and be taken care of (2). In her thinking it was owing to
her. She was obviously a member of the "entitlement
society" as she was an able-bodied woman and quite
capable of working, and quite capable of applying for
a permit to be in the country legally.

Certainly I believe that people who are genuinely
unable to take care of themselves because of a serious
disability, need to be cared for. But to take care of
people who are capable of working and taking care of
themselves, is a case of irresponsible codependency.
Whether this is at an individual or a national level
makes no difference, it is a gross form of
irresponsibility both on the part of the care-giver
and the care-receiver. The one is as sick as the
other. To take care of people who can take care of
themselves reinforces their irresponsibility and keeps
them sickeningly over-dependent and immature.

By way of interest, God will bend the heavens to do
for us what we cannot do for ourselves-that's why he
sent Jesus, his Son, to die in our place on the cross
to save us from the lethal consequences of our
sins--but he will not do for us what we are able to do
for ourselves.

Yes, people have right "rights" but not wrong "rights"
in that they do not have the right to be irresponsible
and live off other peoples' hard work and efforts when
they are capable of taking care of themselves. As
today's Scripture says, "'If a man will not work, he
shall not eat." It is tragic that too many leaders
don't get it, as it appears that they are more
interested in getting votes than they are in the
lasting welfare of both individuals and society at
large.

1. 2 Thessalonians 3:7-10 (NIV)
(2) then does that mean that people suffering in the Sudan, Ethiopia or
any other country is LESS 'blessed' or 'entitled' to God's providence????

Norman Thomas Socialist candidate

Norman Thomas (U.S. socialist presidential candidate) on the true evils of liberalism:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

What did Hoover, Truman and Eisenhower all do?

What did Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around. I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the
deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman
deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower
deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could sure do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Why you might ask can't they do this today? Actually the answer is quite simple.
Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not untrustworthy politicians looking to buy votes!

And yet THIS administration says it would be impossible to act.

Reminder: Don't forget to pay your taxes - 12 to 20 million illegal aliens - are depending on you!

Just take this last item: In the last two years we have accumulated national debt at a rate more than 27 times as fast as during the rest of our entire nation's history. Over 27 times as fast!

Analogies:
If you are driving 65 MPH and a car passes you 27 times faster, it would be doing 1,755 MPH!

The Four Trillion dollar increase in the National Debt {that?s $4,000,000,000,000.00} can be related in several ways:

1.) If someone were to hand you a one hundred dollar bill every second of every day; 24 hours a day seven days a week; it would take 1,269 years to give you that 4 trillion dollars!!!! Or if someone started giving away $100.00 dollar bills at the same rate and they were just now running out they would have had to have started in the year 742 A.D.

2.) If you were to tape $100.00 bills end to end $4,000,000,000,000.00 would stretch out 379,000 miles; or driving at 60 miles an hour 24 hours a day seven days a week looking down at a string of $100.00 bills taped end to end it would take you almost 17 years to get to the end!!!!!! THINK about THAT the next time you are zipping down the thruway at 60 MPH!!!! Just look at the ground and imagine 17 years of hundred dollar bills end to end going by!!!!!!!!! It should make you as sick as me!!!!
THAT is the debt we have accumulated since the Resident took office!!!! Aren?t you happy about the CHANGE!?!?!?!?

Osama Ben Laudin.... dead? really?

Rather amazing that just when Obama needed another distraction after the birth certificate production, all of a sudden they announce that 'ding don the big bad witch is dead'.

just seems a bit too contrived and too 'convenient'.

I'd be interested in what YOU think.

examples of Obama-nomics...

Last year Obama flew in Air Force One 172 times, almost every other day.

White House officials have been telling reporters in recent days that the Democrat doesn't intend to hang around the White House quite so much in 2011.  They explain he wants to get out more around the country because, as everyone knows, that midterm election shellacking on Nov. 2 had nothing to do with his health care bill, over-spending or other policies, and everything to do with Obama's not adequately explaining himself to his countrymen and women.

And with only 673 days remaining in Obama's never ending presidential campaign, the incumbent's travel pace will not likely slacken.

At an Air Force-estimated cost of $181,757 per flight HOUR (not to mention the additional travel costs of Marine One, Secret Service, logistics and local police overtime), that's a lot of frequent flier dollars going into Obama's carbon footprint.

We are privy to some of these numbers thanks to CBS' Mark Knoller, a bearded national treasure trove of presidential stats.  According to Knoller's copious notes, during the last year, Obama made 65 domestic trips over 104 days, and six trips to eight countries over 22 days.  Not counting six vacation trips over 32 days..

He took 196 helicopter trips, signed 203 pieces of legislation and squeezed in 29 rounds of left-handed golf.

Obama last year gave 491 speeches, remarks or statements.  That's more talking than goes on in some entire families, at least from fatherly mouths.

In fact, even including the 24 days of 2010 that we never saw Obama in public, his speaking works out to about one official utterance every 11 waking hours.  Aides indicate the "Real Good Talker" believes we need more.

Related:  Vacationer-in-Chief Spends $1.75 Million to Visit Hawaiian Chums
The Hawaiian Reporter, which had the story before anyone, estimated the known expenditures of the trip alone cost at least $1,754,200 — not including unknown expenses. The paper breaks things down thus:
  • Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii: $63,000 (White House Dossier)
  • Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii: $1 million (GAO estimates)
  • Housing in beachfront homes for Secret Service and Seals in Kailua ($1,200 a day for 14 days): $16,800
  • Costs for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel: $134,400 ($400 per day for 24 staff) – excluding meals and other room costs
  • Police overtime: $250,000 (2009 costs reported by Honolulu Police Department)
  • Ambulance: $10,000 (City Spokesperson)
  • TOTAL COST: $1,474,200
UNKNOWN COSTS
  • Rental of office building in Kailua on canal
  • Security upgrades and additional phone lines
  • Costs for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel (Secret Service imports most of the cars used here to escort the president)
  • Surveillance before the president arrives
  • Travel costs for Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President
Editor’s note per a reader – add another $280,000: Hawaii Reporter was informed that we left out a major expense from this report.
Another unknown cost is how the president’s visit negatively impacted local businesses. TheDaily Mail reported the Obamas’ visit shut down Dillingham Airfield. “Bill Star, one the operators of Original Glider Rides, lamented the lost business as it was the first day of excellent weather this week.” Obamanomics at work.
Ironically, as the president lounged at beachside, his sycophantic advisers presented him as a restless advocate for the people. Valerie Jarrett told Meet the Press last weekend Obama had to “spend almost every waking hour in Washington focusing very hard on solving that [economic] crisis” (which he also spent every waking hour creating). The Washington Examiner‘s ByronYork reported that Obama had in fact spent nearly half his time in office outside the Beltway. Barack Obama had been president 712 (excruciating) days as of yesterday. York reported, “According to figures compiled by CBS News reporter Mark Knoller, who serves as a sort of unofficial White House record-keeper, Obama has spent 339 of those days — nearly 48 percent — outside Washington.” However, only 45 of those days passed without a public event or statement to keep Obama before television cameras.

Obama has spent over $100 million taxpayer dollars flying around in Air Force One, and probably another $100 million on his entourage.  Obama is just another tin-pot dictator living lavishly at the expense of his subjects.
And we seniors have to "tighten our belts" because we aren't getting a COLA again this year... and none last year!
THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED PUT THIS GREEDY WINDBAG IN OFFICE!!
BE MORE CAREFUL NEXT TIME!!

A Congressional representative from California?

Having already downed a few power drinks, a woman at a bar turns around, faces the man next to her, looks him straight in the eye and says,

"Listen here good looking, I screw anybody, anytime, anywhere, your place, my place, in the car, front door, back door, on the ground, standing up, sitting down, naked or with clothes on.  It doesn't matter to me.  I just love it!"

Eyes now wide with interest, he responds, "No kidding.  I'm in Congress
too.  What state are you from?"

A tear jerker

Illegal immigrants are boycotting  Arizona  by the thousands, showing their outrage with Arizona 's controversial new SB-1070 law by moving elsewhere.

In the small town of  Guadalupe , AZ , south of  Phoenix , Manuel Renaldo is one of those who is punishing  Arizona by leaving. As he loaded his stolen car with his stolen belongings and family of ten, Renaldo told this reporter through an interpreter "It's a matter of principle; I refuse to be supported by a state that treats me like a criminal!"

The effects of the exodus are being felt by Arizona retailers, who are reporting dwindling sales of beer, spray paint, and ammunition. Also hit hard are the state’s hospitals, which have reported a dramatic decline in births and emergency room visits. Tattoo parlors are in a state of panic.

Renaldo told a reporter through an interpreter "He and his family are moving to California , which is a state that will support him and his family with dignity!"  ...and understands his ‘rights’ as an illegal immigrant!

Kind of brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it!

(don't know if it's true but I love it.... even if it is a bit tongue in cheek, but at least it's a good explanation of why I can't go home to California)
