ELECTRICITY BILLS ARE ABOUT TO 'NECESSARILY SKYROCKET'

In January of 2008, then Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama, talking about his energy plan, told the San Francisco Chronicle, “When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal…under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…” He wasn’t kidding.

While he was talking about his cap and trade plan, something that went nowhere in Congress, even when Democrats controlled it with a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, his objective of changing how we generate electricity hasn’t changed. Neither has his lack of concern for the cost to consumers.
President Obama hates coal because he has deemed it too “dirty.” It’s also the largest generator of electricity in this country. Were there a cheaper, easier (and even cleaner) source of electricity generation the market would have embraced it because that’s how markets work. But there isn’t, at least not yet.
But rather than allow the market to work, something new to be developed, the President seeks to force it, to steer it where he wants it to go. It’s something politicians have tried to do since there was a market to steer, and something they’ve failed to do successfully since their first try (Great Leap Forward anyone?).
President Obama wants to steer electricity generation away from coal to natural gas. The only problem with that is our system is set up for coal, coal is abundant and coal is easier to get. While the market may naturally gravitate to natural gas as it becomes easier to get through fracking, something the Left has demonized and is fighting, we’re not there yet.
Just like the public and humiliating failures of subsidized solar companies like Solyndra and so many others, the technology may be there but simply existing doesn’t make it practical. Neither does willing it to be.
The automobile existed for years before it took over from trains and streetcars as the dominant mode of transportation, not because it didn’t work, but because it took until Henry Ford found a way to make them affordable. The government didn’t force it, the market did.
President Obama, through the power of regulation, is seeking to force the electricity generation market in a direction it simply isn’t ready to go. And consumers will be the ones who suffer.
Coal fueled electricity generating plants can’t just flip a switch and use natural gas, changing them over is time consuming and, most importantly to consumers, very expensive. The cost of doing so will not be eaten by these electric companies, it will be passed on to consumers. And, as President Obama said, the electric bills of those consumers will “necessarily skyrocket.”
This isn’t just hyperbole. A survey of electricity executive indicates 90 percent of them expect the costs of moving away from coal power plants to lead to higher electricity bills for consumers. More than half of the survey respondents predict at least a 10 percent increase.
More than a survey, as Phil Kerpen, President of American Commitment, reports:
…PJM Interconnection, the company that operates the electric grid for 13 states held its 2015 capacity auction…The market-clearing price for new 2015 capacity – almost all natural gas – was $136 per megawatt. That’s eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16 per megawatt.
But don’t expect this White House to care. They have no reason to. These price spikes are a few years away and will come long after President Obama will face voters for the last time. He’ll either be a President in his last term or a former President, neither of which carry accountability.
The accountability must come now, before it’s too late.
Congress can move against the President’s plans to regulate existing and new power coal power plants, but that is unlikely with the Senate being controlled by Democrats. It would also require him not to veto any action Congress takes, which won’t happen either. So right now, this is the future we’re facing.
Since legislative action or a regulatory change of course are unlikely, voter education is the only hope. The promise of “green energy” sounds great, but it’s just sounds at this point. We may get to the point where we can generate the electricity we need through sheer force of will or some other way the global warming true believers support, but that will have to come the way every important innovation in all areas of the economy have come – through the market finding a profitable way to meet consumer demand. But we aren’t there yet.
Until we get there, coal is still the best, most efficient and most affordable source of the electricity we need. All the regulations and wishes in the world won’t change that fact, only the market can.

We’ll mock Jesus but not Mohammed, says BBC boss

Once upon a time..... English held a stronghold for intellectuals.... no longer... and since when did 'ethnicity' provide a shield for deplorable behaviour such as murder of homosexuals, child mutilation, ignoring the poor, murder for dissidents, murder of other religions and ethnicity, genital mutilation ... and the list never ends.

The head of the BBC, Mark Thompson, has admitted that the broadcaster would never mock Mohammed like it mocks Jesus.
He justified the astonishing admission of religious bias by suggesting that mocking Mohammed might have the “emotional force” of “grotesque child pornography”.
But Jesus is fair game because, he said, Christianity has broad shoulders and fewer ties to ethnicity.

Mr Thompson says the BBC would never have broadcast Jerry Springer The Opera – a controversial musical that mocked Jesus – if its target had been Mohammed.
He made the remarks in an interview for a research project at the University of Oxford.
Mr Thompson said: “The point is that for a Muslim, a depiction, particularly a comic or demeaning depiction, of the Prophet Mohammed might have the emotional force of a piece of grotesque child pornography.”

Insults

A BBC spokesman was unavailable for comment.
Last year former BBC news anchor Peter Sissons said Christians are “fair game” for insults at the corporation, whilst Muslims must not be offended.
Mr Sissons, whose memoirs were serialised in the Daily Mail, said: “Islam must not be offended at any price, although Christians are fair game because they do nothing about it if they are offended.”
The former presenter also said that staff damage their careers if they don’t follow the BBC’s mindset.

Should we become like UK and it's national health care???

NOT what I'd want to wake up to..... but it certainly is where the current administration is leading, esp. regarding forcing those who are totally opposed to birth control and abortive medications to provide them no matter what.  (they ARE available from plenty of other sources)  And who would be the ones to decide (and yes, there are 'death panels' in the current 'health care' bill) who would live or who would get life-saving medical treatment.... treatment that might be 'expensive' and therefore to be denied or weighed as to the value of a life.

This IS where we are headed and this is what makes THIS election so important and well might be our last one if we allow this road to continue

Killing babies no different from abortion, experts say
Parents should be allowed to have their newborn babies killed because they are “morally irrelevant” and ending their lives is no different to abortion, a group of medical ethicists linked to Oxford University has argued.

The article, published in the Journal of Medical Ethics, says newborn babies are not “actual persons” and do not have a “moral right to life”. The academics also argue that parents should be able to have their baby killed if it turns out to be disabled when it is born.
The journal’s editor, Prof Julian Savulescu, director of the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, said the article's authors had received death threats since publishing the article. He said those who made abusive and threatening posts about the study were “fanatics opposed to the very values of a liberal society”.
The article, entitled “After-birth abortion: Why should the baby live?”, was written by two of Prof Savulescu’s former associates, Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva.
They argued: “The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual.”
Rather than being “actual persons”, newborns were “potential persons”. They explained: “Both a fetus and a newborn certainly are human beings and potential persons, but neither is a ‘person’ in the sense of ‘subject of a moral right to life’.

West urged to accept rising Islamist political power in Arab world

The Associated Press has an article in the news (1/23/2012)by then NY based Human Rights Watch that the West must accept the murdering Islamists ways.  I suppose they would have endorsed Hitler's Nazi party as well.

REPORTING FROM CAIRO -- Human Rights Watch has urged the West to accept the new reality that Islamist parties are the rising political powers in Arab nations where secular autocratic regimes were toppled in last year's so-called Arab Spring movement.
In the organization's annual report, Executive Director Kenneth Roth said the West should abandon traditional repressive regimes and begin working with new Islamist politicians toward democratic reforms. In Tunisia and Egypt, where fair and transparent parliamentary elections have been held for the first time ever, Islamist parties won unprecedented majorities.
"The international community must … come to terms with political Islam when it represents a majority preference," Roth wrote. "Islamic parties are genuinely popular in much of the Arab world, in part because many Arabs have come to see political Islam as the antithesis of autocratic rule."
"Wherever Islam-inspired governments emerge, the international community should focus on encouraging, and if needed be pressuring, them to respect basic rights -- just as the Christian-labeled parties and governments of Europe are expected to do."
The report also stressed that new Islamist governments should "abide by international human rights obligations, particularly with respect to women's rights and religious freedoms."
Roth said many Western nations, in their dealings with the region, practiced what he called an "Arab exception" that included fear of political Islam and terrorism, the need to keep oil supplies flowing and a longstanding policy of relying on autocracies to maintain Arab-Israeli peace.
"It is time to end the 'Arab exception' and recognize that the people of the region deserve respect for their rights and freedoms as much as anyone else," he added.
In Tunisia, the moderate Islamic Nahda Party won more than 40% of the vote in elections in October, while the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party and ultraconservative Salafis jointly won more than 70% of the the seats in Egypt's new parliament.

Barack Obama Has Declared Himself Dictator of the USA

It's Official: Barack Obama Has Declared Himself De-facto Dictator Of The United States Of America.

While the tyrannical pronouncement went largely unreported by the Obama-media, Barack Obama declared himself de-facto dictator of the United States of America on Wednesday, possibly signaling the end of the United States as we know it.

In what can only be described as a blatant, totalitarian and authoritarian abuse of power, Barack Obama, decreed that Richard Cordray would be the head of his so-called Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and he made his declaration without the advice and consent of the Senate, and, by doing so, he clearly violated Article 2, Section 2 of the United States Constitution.

But do not be deceived, the Cordray decree is not just another run of the mill Obama abuse of power.

Through this seemingly insignificant but illegal act of defiance, Barack Obama stopped sticking his toe in the water and finally took the plunge and declared Congress irrelevant, and as long as Congress accepts its newly decreed irrelevance, nothing stands in Barack Obama's way. That's how tyrannies start!

We can't allow that to happen.  The disease that is the Obama administration must be stopped and IMPEACHMENT is the only cure

RE: 'unhappiness' in British children. Do ya' think that just MAYBE living in a socialist country, one that is being taken over by Islamists at that MIGHT have any thing to do with it.? When needs are 'met' and there is no striving for them and hence no opportunity for success, a feeling of ennui becomes pervasive? And a reason why the Scandinavian countries have the highest rates of teen alcoholism. If the State becomes the family, this is what results as the Sate is a faceless, uncaring mechanical tit from which physical 'needs' are met but the psychological/spiritual needs wither and die.

We know the early psychological  experiments of Harry Harlow which proved that monkeys chose the cuddly surrogate over the food one.  And families are increasingly less willing to touch and hug and form real attachments.

So we wonder why the toddlers who have gone thru multiples of adult caregivers in their young formative lives lack social attachment and thus connectedness and responsibility to the social structure as a whole as they age.  One would be hesitant to say the mature or grown up as these old children never develop healthy psyches that a society needs for positive development.

BHO selling US out AGAIN

This is short but painful...  It's obvious who the current administration favors isn't it?  We are given cantaminated foods, they kill our pets, they silence different views with a bullet and then bill the family for that bullet.  Are you going to be comfortable with an x-ray machine emitting radiation on you from this company.

And what about the former workers?  They will need food stamps, unemployment for how long?  Fall into depression... need state medical care?  Will GE pay it's share?  hmmmm how much did they contribute to BHO's campaign????

If you were thinking of buying a once proud product line (we had a total GE kitchen when I was growing up) DON'T buy anything GE... and let them know why.

Keep your eye on Waukesha, Wisconsin......Their biggest employer just moved out.

General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha,Wis., to Beijing.
In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in Chinaand train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers.
This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes -the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in theUnited States.
So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American....give Barrack our Best!
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does. Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.
